Pullet Eggs

First Pullet Egg of 2014

So what is a pullet egg?  It’s an egg laid by a pullet, obviously.  And… a pullet is a young hen, just starting to lay eggs.  And this week we got our first!  They’re pretty small as you can see.

In the next few weeks all our new hens will begin laying.  We will be able to offer eggs to CSA members at that point so stay tuned!  Initially we will have them as a first come, first served sort of thing (anyone with delivery can order ahead).  Possibly when the supply is consistent we may be able to take standing orders or “egg share” add-ons.
