We have trellising complete in the hoophouses. It was a fairly big task and had us working in Summer conditions rather the the outside spring weather. For the tomatoes we trellised the outside and middle rows right up to the top of the hoophouse. The outside rows didn’t have anything to trellis to so we drilled holes in each hoop and pulled fence wire through. A big task, but we can use this for trellising for years to come. For the second and fourth rows we are using “basket weave” or “florida weave” as it’s sometimes called. The second row is all cherry tomatoes and they don’t work as well for pruning to a single stem.

For the cucumbers we us twine tied to the hoophouse and wind the plants around the twine.  It’s a lot of pruning and such, but it helps to make the most of the space in the hoophouse and get the nicest cucumbers out of it.
