We are getting a lot of snow and cold this year. But still nothing compared to what we experienced in 2007 when we lived in Ottawa. I remember it was a record of sorts with 450 cm for that season. I am glad that I decided to buy a used snowblower this winter. I was going to try to do with only a box blade but we have a long driveway (over 1/2 a km).
New tractor and snow blower
Last year I made the big decision to buy another tractor. With the farm 4 years ago we bought an older tractor which I thought at the time might work for me. In the end I found it too big and not quite right for what I was trying to do. It is a 2 wheel drive 60 Hp tractor that wasn’t really meant to have a loader on it.
Old Tractor
I stressed about the decision for a long time, but finally jumped in and bought the new tractor and sold the old one. So far I’m very happy I did. The newer tractor is much more versatile and pretty much everything I’ve done with it has gone considerably smoother than with the old tractor.
